Juicing Up
This six episode motion comic introduces viewers to the Extremis serum which was a secretly developed and thought-to-be-cancelled military project. The serum, when injected into a subject, gives them incredible power that was intended to make them unstoppable on the battlefield. That battlefield turns out to be Tony Stark’s city as an Extremis case breaks out that pits Iron Man against a one-man wrecking crew.
The series starts off a little slow, with Tony Stark participating in a relatively lengthy interview that details some of his arms dealing past. Meanwhile, the Extremis serum has been given to an unfortunate soul. As events escalate, Iron Man combats the ‘super soldier’ but is beaten handedly, nearly dying. He’ll have to make a decision to change the way the Iron Man suit integrates with his brain if he’s to have a chance to stop the madman.
On DVD
In terms of presentation, Iron Man: Extremis looks and sounds fine on DVD. I’m not completely convinced on motion comics, though. I think my biggest gripe with motion comics would be the way characters walk and how their mouths look when they talk, but other than that, it’s not a bad form of expression. Technical quality of the image and sounds in this presentation are fine, nothing outstanding nor really disappointing.
