Burbank, Calif. May 24, 2010 – Unravel the events of May 5th, 1995 to reveal the truth behind the most unanswered question of our time…are we alone? Presented by Warner Home Video, Alien Autopsy makes its U.S. premiere on DVD on September 21, 2010. Orders are due August 17, 2010 (SRP $14.98).
In July 1947, the U.S. military issued a press release announcing that an “unidentified flying object” had crash landed on a remote estate outside of Roswell, New Mexico. Four hours later, they retracted the story, stating that in fact the debris was that of a weather balloon. The retraction sparked one of the biggest conspiracy theories of the 20th Century. Rumors were rife of an autopsy carried out on alien life forms carried away from the scene. Eye witnesses came forward and swore they had seen strange life forms being carried away on stretchers by U.S. servicemen, but their stories remained just that, stories. Without hard evidence the rumors fermented, becoming embedded in American folklore and fueling an industry which Roswell capitalizes on to this day. The truth has never been determined, that is until 1995 which is where this story begins.
Based on a true story, Alien Autopsy is a mysterious, intriguing and quirky film about two guys who believe they have film evidence about an alien cover up and government conspiracy regarding the famed Roswell incident. What ensues is nothing short of a rollercoaster ride for the two unlikely lads from London. Hurled into the heart of a media frenzy, the spotlight of the world focuses on them and with it the unwanted attention of the world’s biggest super power. They will need to call on every reserve of wit and daring if they are to survive.
Directed by Jonny Campbell and written by William Davies (How to Train Your Dragon, Flushed Away), Alien Autopsy stars Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, two of Britain’s most successful television entertainers, making their big screen debut. The film also boasts great supporting performances by Bill Pullman (Spaceballs, Independence Day) and Harry Dean Stanton (HBO’s Big Love, Alien). The film will also be available for permanent download and digital rental through iTunes, Amazon Video On Demand, PlayStation Store and Xbox LIVE Zune Video
