HOLLYWOOD, CALIF. – Director Kathryn Bigelow’s (The Hurt Locker) gripping film about a real-life disaster aboard a nuclear submarine sets a course for Blu-ray when K-19: THE WIDOWMAKER arrives May 4, 2010 from Paramount Home Entertainment. Starring Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson, the film was inspired by a true story about an incident on a Soviet K-19 submarine in 1961 during the height of the Cold War. When the nuclear reactor core becomes exposed during the K-19’s maiden voyage, the captain (Ford) bravely tries to avert both the destruction of his ship and the start of a nuclear war while defending his command against a near mutiny lead by his executive officer (Neeson).
