Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. has released a fun online game to tide Solid Snake fans over until the long-awaited May release of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for PSP® (PlayStation®Portable).
Series creators, Kojima Productions, have created Metal Gear Solid: Piece Walker, a dedicated online game available via www.konami.jp/pw_game/. Taking the form of an isometric puzzle game, users are charged with placing a series of jigsaw pieces into a picture grid. One of many monochromatic images from Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker acts as a center to the play area, and players must place the correct colored version on to the image in order to complete the picture.
Points are awarded by placing the colored blocks correctly, and Metal Gear Solid: Piece Walker also allows players to compete with rival puzzlers from all over the globe via its multi-player options, with later levels also adding bombs and traps for the player to use against their rival. The very best players will then be recorded for prosperity within the game’s online Ranking system, and the game can also be shared with friends via social networking sites, such as Twitter and Facebook.
The game is currently available in both Japanese and English language, with localized versions to follow. Kojima Productions will also be adding a constant stream of new levels on a weekly basis in the run up to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker’s release on May 25th.
