Pre-order underway for Namco Bandai’s Dead to Rights: Retribution

SANTA CLARA, Calif., (Jan. 28, 2010) – Leading video game publisher and developer NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. announced today a pre-order campaign for Dead to Rights®: Retribution for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. Customers who pre-order the game from GameStop or Amazon.com will have access to a downloadable pack that provides bonus content to enhance their experience with the final retail game. Each downloadable pack will offer players an opportunity to play as modified versions of one of the game’s main characters, and feature an additional bonus mode that alters the gameplay experience.

The “Jack Pack,” exclusive to GameStop in-store or online pre-order customers, features special Grant City Anti-Crime (GAC) armor for Jack Slate, which provides an increased health boost as he battles for justice amidst a city in chaos. In addition, a guns-blazing “action mode” switches up the gameplay with explosive rounds, increasing the damage and impact of all shots fired. Token cards with redeemable codes will accompany in-store retail copies of the game, while an electronic code will be issued for online orders.

Available for pre-orders at Amazon.com, the “Shadow Pack” allows canine companion Shadow to use camouflage which reduces detection when stalking enemies with his stealth move. This pack also offers the visually striking “noir mode” where all on-screen graphics are displayed in black, white and dramatic blood red, further immersing players in the deep noir themes of the game. Customers will receive a redeemable code electronically when their game copy is shipped.

Dead to Rights®: Retribution is a ground-up reinvention of the multi-million unit selling crime action series. Thrusting players into a mature neo-noir crime drama as vice cop Jack Slate and his canine companion Shadow, the game introduces an innovative new hybrid combat system that seamlessly blends third-person shooting with hand-to-hand brawling and AI partner. Deadly on their own, Jack and Shadow are even more formidable as they team up to defeat the threats they uncover in Grant City.

Developed by Volatile Games, Dead to Rights: Retribution will launch for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system in North America on April 13, 2010. For more information, please visit http://www.deadtorights.com/ or www.namcobandaigames.com.
