WHAT: MLB 09 THE SHOW, the popular baseball videogame for the PS3, was used to simulate the 2009 World Series and predicts the Philadelphia Phillies will upset the New York Yankees to repeat as World Series champs.  The series was full of ups and downs as the both clubs clawed it out to the very last pitch.  The Phillies took an early 3-1 lead behind the strong pitching of Cliff Lee, but the Yanks came right back with clutch hitting by     A-Rod, Jeter and Teixeira to push the series to a decisive Game 7.  With the World Championship in the balance, Chase Utley would become Philadelphia’s savior with a three-run homerun in the top of the 8th inning to seal an improbable 8-2 victory against the heavily favored New York Yankees.

HOW: The 2009 World Series was simulated utilizing the Artificial Intelligence (AI) in MLB 09 The Show.  The most authentic baseball simulation available, MLB 09 The Show combines ultra-realistic AI, incredible stadiums scaled to exact detail, and lifelike player models utilizing scanned and motion capture data of real MLB athletes.  MLB 09 The Show provides the ultimate MLB simulation for truly accurate game predictions.
