Burbank, CA (July 28, 2009) – The anticipation has been building and the day has finally come as Warner Home Video (WHV) helps protect Gotham with the release of Batman: The Brave and the Bold Volume 2 on DVD. Batman is back for a second time teaming up with Green Arrow, Wildcat, Blue Beetle, Speedy and others to protect the world in this thrilling series put together by the unstoppable tag team of Warner Bros. Animation and DC Comics. This second release from this hit action-packed adventure series airing on Cartoon Network is being released by WHV on DVD November 10, 2009, at the suggested retail price of $14.98.
Everyone knows that by himself the Caped Crusader is more than any villain can handle, but when he has other heroes from across the DC Universe by his side, there is no chance of taking him down. Though still based in Gotham, Batman frequently finds himself outside city limits, facing situations that are both unfamiliar and exhilarating. With formidable foes around every corner, Batman relies on his stealth, resourcefulness, strength and limitless supply of gadgets to bring justice home.
“Warner Home Video could not be any happier with the continued success of the Batman series and are ecstatic to be bringing the next installment to DVD,” said Amit Desai, WHV Vice President of Family, Animation and Partner Brands Marketing. “Batman: The Brave and the Bold Volume 2 proves that when superheroes band together, there is no way that they can be taken down, which provides fans with an experience like no other.”
“One of the real pleasures of producing this incarnation of Batman has been teaming him with a wide variety of characters from across the DC Universe, some more well-known than others, but each with a passionate fanbase,” said Sam Register, Executive Vice President, Creative Affairs, Warner Bros. Animation. “Seeing Batman on adventures with Green Arrow, Blue Beetle, Wildcat, Deadman and more has proven to be rewarding for our audience, and we look forward to telling more of these stories.”
Batman: The Brave and the Bold has been extremely popular on Cartoon Network with its combination of drama and comic relief. The show is one of the top-rated programs among boys 6-11 and men 18-49. The series, which has a full line of toys being released this year, is executive produced by Sam Register, and the producers are James Tucker and Linda M. Steiner. The voice cast includes Diedrich Bader as Batman, John DiMaggio as Aquaman, James Arnold Taylor as Green Arrow, Will Friedle as Blue Beetle, Corey Burton as Red Tornado and Tom Kenny as Plastic Man.
