Konami reveals details on new master league and screenshots for Pro Evolution Soccer 2010

Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today released new screenshots and outlined significant advances to the Master League feature in Pro Evolution Soccer 2010. The Master League feature has proven to be one of the key attributes to the PES series’ success, and Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 will introduce a number of new elements to bolster to the overall realism and lasting appeal of the game.

On selecting the Master League option, players will be presented with a menu split into three areas: ‘Club House’, ‘Stadium Walk’, and ‘Office’. Each of these represent different aspects of a manager’s role, with ‘Club House’ used for tactical and match day options, ‘Stadium Walk’ for main game settings, and ‘Office’ for scouting and player acquisition decisions.

The in-game menus are now much simpler to navigate, and players can jump between the three areas with ease. The Club House element features the creation of an all-new Youth Team section, which works alongside the first team squad. As the game progresses, the player can opt to invest in talented members of their youth team thereby placing their development on a fast-track.  This stand-out talent can then be introduced into the first team, similar to the role of ‘academies’ in real-life.

The Office area is where all transfers and financial dealings take place. This year, real currency is used and additional revenue streams can be pursued. For example sponsorships can now be negotiated, where teams can secure big money deals with other brands and companies. In turn that money can be reinvested back into the team to bolster activities such as player development. Results on the field will affect the value of the club in the eyes of potential partners, and fan clubs will also serve as a barometer of the club’s success.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 is scheduled to be released in Fall 2009 on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Windows PC and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system this Autumn with enhancements in every area of the game.
