Scooby-Doo! Where are you? Volume 3 Hello Mummy! coming to DVD

BURBANK, CA (July 20, 2009) – A ghost clown, a cursed mummy and a mysterious puppet master are some of the strange and spooky villains the Mystery Inc. gang encounters on Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! Vol. 3 Hello Mummy, a collection of classic Scooby-Doo cartoons available on DVD September 1, 2009 from Warner Home Video (WHV).  This third compilation features four episodes from the original series and will retail for $14.97 SRP.

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! first made its debut more than thirty years ago during CBS’ Saturday morning lineup and became an instant hit.   The series follows the adventures of Daphne, Fred, Shaggy, Velma and Scooby-Doo as they travel in their van “The Mystery Machine” and solve cases typically involving ghosts, monsters or other supernatural forces. Hi-jinks always ensue, with their investigations resulting in entertaining chase scenes mixed with catchy musical numbers and comedic antics. The program went on to become one of the most successful animated television programs in history and spawned several spin-off series, specials, consumer products and live action films.

Featured episodes on Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! Vol. 3 Hello Mummy include the following:

The Backstage Rage – Shaggy and Scooby-Doo find a violin case filled with money, which disappears when Scooby-Doo is distracted by a puppet.  A lead takes the Mystery Inc. gang to a local theater, where they uncover a counterfeiting scheme masterminded by a shadowy figure.

Bedlam in the Big Top – The Mystery Inc. gang meets a strongman and a midget who are on the run from a circus that is allegedly haunted by a ghost clown.  The gang investigates the circus grounds, and one-by-one, they each fall victim to the ghost clown’s powers of hypnotism.

A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts – On the road, the gang pulls up to an ancient castle that has been transported brick-by-brick from Transylvania. Upon entering it however, they find that it is haunted by three creatures: a vampire, a werewolf and a Frankenstein-like monster.

Scooby-Doo and a Mummy, Too – Archeology professors at a local college show the gang the school’s latest acquisition:  the mummy of Ankha, an ancient Egyptian ruler who placed a curse upon any who violate his tomb.  The curse appears to be valid, as the gang finds their professors turned to stone and a mummy figure roaming the grounds looking for a particular Egyptian coin.

“Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! Vol. 3 Hello Mummy offers consumers a chance to sample classic Scooby-Doo, the series that started it all, with four wonderful episodes for one great price,” said Amit Desai, WHV Vice President of Family, Animation & Sports Marketing.  He added, “Scooby-Doo’s characters and storylines are timeless, plus it’s material the whole family can enjoy.  Another great thing about Scooby-Doo is that the program always delivers that perfect balance of mystery and intrigue, mixed with just the right amount of fun and comedic antics.”
