Wii Rock Band 2 owners will gain access this week to three tracks from Long Island-based alternative rockers Taking Back Sunday, as well as six songs each from pop legend Roy Orbison and shock rock legend Alice Cooper.
Blending heavy metal, vaudeville, horror movies and garage rock, Alice Cooper lays claim to multiple platinum albums and chart-topping hits, as well as unforgettable theatrical stage performances. “Under My Wheels (live),” “I’m Eighteen (live),” “Billion Dollar Babies (live)” and “School’s Out (live),” all from Cooper’s 1995 live album, Classicks, will be made available, as will “Poison,” the lead single from 1989’s Trash and “Vengeance is Mine,” from his latest offering, Along Came a Spider (2008).
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy Award-winner Roy Orbison offers up six classic tracks to the Wii Rock Band Music Store this week. “Claudette,” from 1965’s There Is Only One Roy Orbison; “In Dreams,” from the 1963 album of the same name; the 1963 single “Mean Woman Blues,” “Oh, Pretty Woman,” from 1965’s album Orbisongs; “Ooby Dooby,” from 1961’s Roy Orbison at the Rock House; and “You Got It,” from 1989’s Mystery Girl.
These tracks come from the back catalog of Rock Band music already released to owners of Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system. Wii fans can expect a rollout of previously released downloadable Rock Band content until the entire back catalog of more than 690 songs is available. With the addition of these tracks, there are now more than 290 tracks in the Wii Rock Band Music Store.
