Disney Interactive Studios Partners with Music for Relief for Ultimate Band

URBANK, Calif. – (July 14, 2008) – Disney Interactive Studios announced today a partnership with Music for Relief, a non-profit organization founded by music band Linkin Park that raises awareness and funds for natural disaster victims in the United States and abroad as well as recognizing and fighting the effects of global warming. Ultimate Band, due out this fall on Wii™ home video game console, will feature in-game Music for Relief content, while Music for Relief will feature Ultimate Band in its booth at Projekt Revolution 2008 tour stops in the United States beginning with Burgettstown, PA on July 18 and running throughout the summer tour.

Ultimate Band is a new interactive music video game that enables teens and families to perform current and classic rock songs in various venues using only the Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™.  Songs that are featured in the game range from “My Generation,” “Whip It,” and “Just What I Needed” to modern-day favorites like “Steady As She Goes,” “Fell in Love with a Girl” and “Somebody Told Me.” Through the partnership with Music for Relief, players will have the chance to perform at a Music for Relief charity concert in the game. In addition, fans attending this year’s Projekt Revolution tour will have the chance to play Ultimate Band at the Music for Relief booth before its official release this holiday season.

“Teenagers are more socially conscious and aware of world issues now than ever before and Music for Relief helps causes that are very real to our communities and players,” said Graham Hopper, executive vice president and general manager of Disney Interactive Studios. “Whether they personally experienced a tragedy like Hurricane Katrina, or know someone abroad that has suffered from the cyclone that devastated Burma/Myanmar this past spring, teens are eager to band together and support a cause. By raising Music for Relief’s profile among our gaming community, we hope to ultimately increase awareness for those that have suffered devastation at the hands of natural disasters all over the world.”

Ultimate Band will be playable during Projekt Revolution 2008 tour stops, headlined by Linkin Park, beginning on July 18 at the Post-Gazette Center in Burgettstown, PA and will include other music acts such as The Bravery, Chris Cornell, Atreyu and others. One dollar of each ticket sold will go to support Music for Relief. For more information about Music for Relief or to make a donation, please visit www.musicforrelief.org.
