This past week, I was invited to Riot Games’ campus in sunny Santa Monica to participate in the Riftbound Summit, an event that showcased their upcoming physical TCG that will be making its way to you and I later this year. Formerly known as Project K, Riot Games collaborated with UVS to expand Riftbound’s reach to global audiences. While I initially heard the news of Project K’s existence earlier this year, the Riftbound Summit was my first exposure to the game in its physical glory.

Small spoiler here – I’m quite hyped for the physical release. Frankly, you should be, too. In this multi-part preview of RIFTBOUND, we’re gonna participate in the Riftbound: Origins Preview Season to give you some behind-the-scenes insight into what I played and what you should expect from the game when it hits the global audience later this year. We may even have a super cool interview with the legendary DAVE GUSKIN, too!

For now, let’s take a look at some of the cards I used in the very first Riftbound game I played.

Notice anything new? If you’ve been following Riftbound’s development journey, you’ll notice that Jinx’s card looks slightly different than what you may have seen earlier this year. The team has overhauled the cards’ designs to showcase the art and capture the essence of the champions!

I can’t wait to share more with you later this month, ranging from Riftbound’s rules, Riftbound’s first set “Origins,” my impressions of how the game plays, and so, so much more. There’s a lot to cover, so hold tight.

For now, follow Riftbound on Bluesky / Twitter for more sneak peeks from the Riftbound Summit!
