Another disc with four fantastic new episodes has finally arrived, and I find myself drawn even deeper into the story and drama of these characters and their struggle against a mysterious and foreboding past. Another valuable lesson this DVD teaches us about anime? The amount of pretty you possess is directly proportionate to the capacity for evil a character has. Never trust stories when those who know the most are reluctant to divulge everything they know at the beginning. Do not stand very close to incalculable evil when you are cutting it into pieces, as evil spreads like a sneeze in an elementary school. Trust what Legend of Zelda has taught you, and fear any being that looks like a familiar charcater made entirely of shadows. Also, and possibly most importantly, never look away from your task of stuffing a great big angry blob into a little box, as the task requires concentration for a reason!
Episodes:
71: Big Brother’s Big Rampage
When Shori finally gains access to his inner power, and attempts to use his newfound strength to ‘protect’ his little brother, the sheer intensity of it all drives him a little out of whack. Yuri is forced to confront Shuri with his own powers in order to save the castle and those inside!
72: That Which is Sealed
At breakfast the next morning, our intrepid band of the King and his followers plan their procedure for re-sealing the Forbidden Boxes before the Originator can fully break free and rampage across the land. As two of the keys to the ritual, Gwendal and Conrart are absolutely necessary, as are Yuri and Ken. However, Wolfram and Shori insist on accompanying them to the ritual and our band heads off to confront an evil so powerful, even the Great One of legend was unable to fully destroy it. Good luck, fellas!
73: Dark Pulsation
After arriving at the Tomb of the Great One to perform the ceremony, the ritual commences to a shaky start. Just as Yuri is attempting to force the pulsing miasma back into the boxes, Wolfram begins acting strangely. Is he possessed, and by whom? Distracted by the outburst, Yuri cannot contain the darkness, and it breaks free to attack the keys!
74: The Controller of the Truth
Ah, now the real truth comes out: That Ken was suspicious of this very outcome all along. As our group binds their wounds and prepares for a second assault, we learn what really happened to the Great One when he sealed those boxes, and it isn’t pretty. However, in order to regain what was lost, our boys have to take on the evil being immediately, before he can complete himself and regain full power!
