Four definitely interesting episodes are included on this disk, and even without being familiar with the series, I can not only see the appeal but grasp the general cast of characters and storyline fairly well, which says a lot for the accessibility of the story, actually. Not knowing the history of the characters or events actually draws one into the setting in a way that I wouldn’t have expected, and the DVD did a good job of being watch-able on its own.
Episodes:
67: A Bridge to Tomorrow
Two villages in the Demon Kingdom; one human, one demon; have begun a long anticipated project to bridge a chasm between their lands to allow for free travel to both towns. In this new era of peace between the peoples, King Yuri has come to witness the project and pitch in himself. Unfortunately, glowing “Light Wolves” have been plaguing the project after dark, and the workers are beginning to fear their origins. Will a former enemy be able to accept the future and help the villager and the young king to fight this new threat?
68: The Age of Glory
A helpful flashback story detailing the crowing of the Great One and the beginnings of the Demon Kingdom itself, as well as the origin and purpose behind the mysterious Boxes (crucial to the ritual in the present).
69: What Must Be Protected
On a night when Yuri was meant to return to Earth for a visit, his brother Shori is sent to the Demon Kingdom instead! Light wackiness ensues, and Shori learns the true depth of his brother’s devotion to this kingdom and it’s people.
70:
On both worlds, mysterious enemies rise up out of the water and attack without provocation. When a young girl is given refuge at the Demon King’s castle, we learn the origins of the person who may be leading them, but not their true purpose. Is it a coincidence that the day of the Great One’s ritual is creeping ever closer?
