Betrayal seems to lurk at every turn as the current regime is confronted with their once-revered and now greatly changed founding ruler. The Great One boldly states his challenge to Yuri, and his plans to destroy the world once the four Forbidden Boxes have been opened, and their dark power released into him. Meanwhile, the Great One’s ground forces begin their assault on the kingdom.
76: Within the Darkness
The Great One’s master plan comes to light, as he plans to invade first Yuri’s mind, and then assume control of his body to rule once more in the flesh, and render the peaceful kingdom he helped to create into a thousand smoldering pieces. However, Yuri’s friends and family hope to turn the tables by re-powering the Sword of the Demon King and returning it to Yuri’s hand.
77: The Advent of the Demon King
The ground forces of the Great One begin to invade earth as he and Yuri remain locked in a battle for control of Yuri’s mind. Will he be able to throw off such intense power and regain enough ability to defeat him, and the Originator’s dark power, once and for all?
78: Till the Day We Meet Again
*This synopsis deliberately omitted to avoid spoilers. I got too excited to be able to clearly judge what is and isn’t too much information, but I will grant that I cried at the end of both this and the previous episode.
As always, the voice acting, animation, and music are masterfully done and work together to flawlessly convey the surprisingly rich and exciting story of what appears, at first glance, to be a reverse-harem anime set in a Medieval timeline. Truly an approachable series, I highly recommend picking this series up, and take heart knowing that with every search for a venue to purchase your next disc/fix, you are prolonging your exposure to this well-crafted and fulfilling story.
