Playful Yet Serious
The twenty-six episodes come on four discs in two cases in one box. That’s a bit of a mouthful, huh? It comes in a cute box with Yuki, Tohru and Kyo on the front and miscellaneous scenes and a short synopsis on the back. Each disk has a different animal of the zodiac on it and the cases have various pictures of Tohru and the Sohma family.
The artwork in the series is very cute but the story-line could be enjoyed by both female and male.
A Little Something for Everyone…Ok, More Like a Lot!
A plethora of extras are included on the four discs! More than we have any right to ask for! Included are the basics: Textless opening and closings and trailers. But there are so many more besides that! There is an interview with the English cast, and interview with the director, Character profiles, and Eyecatch gallery (showing all the different intermissions in the show), a thing called Fruits Basket Room, in which Yui Horie (voice of Tohru) interviews some of the Japanese cast, and a 25 minute show on information about the show, such as how it was adapted from the manga and how they chose the voice actors. What a haul! This is the biggest amount of extras I have found to come with an anime yet!
