Dream Big: Engineering Our World is a made-for-IMAX documentary featuring stunning visuals and incredible engineering stories.
Narrated by Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges, Dream Big: Engineering Our World provides an incredible viewing experience into man-made structures around the globe and the engineering behind them. Originally filmed for IMAX and giant screen theaters, Dream Big introduces the viewer to engineers Menzer Pehlivan, Angelica Hernandez, Avery Bang, and Steve Burrows as well as highlighting engineering marvels such as the Great Wall of China and the Shanghai Tower.
What I enjoyed most about the film was how visually stunning it was. Despite being filmed for IMAX, the Blu-ray packs a beautiful punch featuring jaw-dropping panoramas and beautiful time-lapses. The clarity and detail of each frame created vivid imagery that made viewing empty shots of plant life, cliff facades and rivers enchanting. The time-lapse sequences were absolutely awe-inspiring as day became night over different cities around the world. Sunbathed cityscapes became gorgeously illuminated with bridge and structure lighting as day transitions to night.
The incredible and inspiring engineering stories made for educational and entertaining viewing as well. Stories that include Avery Bang turning down a high-paying job to instead build bridges in third-world countries and Menzer Pehlivan abandoning her dream of becoming a movie star to help the world by engineering safer buildings. Dream Big wil inspire anyone to admire the field of engineering and the people behind the greatest man-made structures the world has seen.
