Dragon Ball Z: Season Three

Dragon Ball Z: Season Three

The Show: Season 3

If there were any terms that would describe this season it would have to be “suspense”.

This season kept the viewer in suspense, Frieza was so powerful that we did not know who was going to die or when. This was the moment when the team had to know how to stick together and they did. We got to see the amazing transformation of Goku which I believe was an amazement for everyone because we had to wait sense the beginning of the Namek saga for him to breakthrough. It was amazing to see Goku come back on Frieza with that transformation after he had to put up with Frieza in his powered up state. Season 3 is a great series and I would recommend to any DBZ fan who loves reliving the moments. However one thing that I would bite on is when the action becomes broken with the senseless dialogue, mainly Bulma and the earth crew, it had a tendency to eat up the show. Other than that, it was good.

Presentation

Interesting to note, they inserted the original Japanese music with the English dialogue and along with it we have the original Japanese dialogue and the Funimation music to be included. It was considerate of Funimation to do that for us. Now we have three options on how we wish to look at Dragon Ball Z. However the marathon mode was useless if you had the option to play all of the episodes at once. Even if you did go to the episode selection, it would play to the next episode.

Artwork

The artwork was great. I would say that the animation has evolved sense the Saiyan Saga and the picture quality looks a lot cleaner than what we saw the first time it made its arrival in the U.S.

Extras

The extras were interesting, being able to see DragonBall Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was a nice touch; I’m looking forward to playing that game when it comes out. Plus they are releasing the Movies on Blue-ray, that’s interesting to see. Overall the extras were fantastic!

Overall

Very good show to watch, it is recommended for the teenagers although parental guidance would be suggested for anyone under the age of 13 because it is uncut and they do get violent at certain points.
