Presentaton
The box art is still top notch displaying Konda holding his sword, Mugen and posing on top of a white background. The individual case for the first DVD shows Lenalee on a black background, while the second case shows Lavi posing on a white background. The discs themselves are exactly the same as the first installment. There is very little difference in the art or music in between the two installments though the opening theme and ending themes both do change on the last episode of the disc. The opening theme maintains its upbeat heavy metal sound but stars a female vocalist as opposed to the male vocalist we’ve gotten used to. The ending theme changes to something a bit more melancholy and sad. It’s easy to say though that if you enjoyed the first half of the series then you will most definitely enjoy the second half.
Extras
The extras in this installment are the exact same as the last one. They are pretty sparse except for the commentary on episode 18. It also contains a handful of trailers on Funimation’s other titles as well as the textless opening and ending themes.
Overall this installment of the first season is just as good as the first, if not in some ways even better as you get to learn even more about the characters you’ve grown to love and enjoy.
