SEGA’s Project Ringo

Anyone got any idea what this is all about? Project Ringo We do accept tips, by the way… 😉 The next revelation is said to appear on the 24th.  Keep your eyes peeled; I’m sure we’ll be here to remind you when it occurs.

Square Enix to purchase Eidos

Apparently Square Enix has reached an agreement with Eidos’ board of directors to purchase the company for £84 Million (USD $120 Million).  That’s 129% higher than Eidos’ current stock price represents, meaning Square must see something in the company that shareholders don’t. Having said that, I’m sure the Eidos shareholders aren’t too bent out of shape about th...[Read More]

Game Boy: It’s better than girls

Why worry about getting some ass when you can get some Tetris instead? [Nathan says: “Tetris is so much easier.  Plus it doesn’t produce babies”] I remember owning and reading this comic.  No wonder I’m such a nerd…I’LL GET YOU, NINTENDOOOOOOO! I actually did play my Game Boy more than I did girls… that is, until the only game I had to play was Sony Images...[Read More]

Call of Duty: World at War map pack featuring new zombie level confirmed

If I had to choose two of the most enjoyable things to waste with the help automatic weapons (a thought exercise in which I engage on a frighteningly regular basis), I would have to go with Nazis and zombies.  Well, speak of the Führer, now, straight from the Call of Duty official forums, we’ve got informal confirmation of the new Call of Duty: World at War DLC map pack including a new nazi ...[Read More]

Nintendo to publish World of Goo in Japan, if trademark registration is to be believed

A new Japanese trademark registration seems to indicate that, quite surprisingly, Nintendo may be publishing World of Goo in Japan.  Apparently the company believes in the game’s potential appeal in the Land of the Rising Sun. Good news for Japanese gamers, and hopefully also for 2D Boy, who apparently has suffered inestimably from piracy of the game.

Bubble Bobble Plus for WiiWare – Video Footage

Check out this video over at WiiFolder of the just-released (in Japan) Bubble Bobble WiiWare title. No date has been announced yet for the U.S. and other territories, but judging by the “Worldwide” ranking leaderboard in-game, we’re quite sure it’s coming (thankfully).

BAFTA Video Game Awards: Super Mario Galaxy vs. LittleBigPlanet?

Super Mario Galaxy vs. LittleBigPlanet?  Yeah, that'll be an interesting one...  wait, what?  LittleBigPlanet isn't in the running for Best Game?  (Scroll down to the image in the next news posting for an approximation of my thoughts on this development.) Okay, so you might already be confused anyway.  This BAFTA's a bit different from previous iterations of the awards ceremony, as games from the...[Read More]

Snoop Dogg partnering with MTV Games; Rock Band to feature some of his songs

So apparently, Snoop Dogg has partnered with MTV Games for all sort of various promotional deals (for instance, his next album will be released through MTV).  But the only part we care about is the fact that apparently his music will be featured as DLC on Rock Band in the future.  Anyone else find that strange? I mean, not to take away from Snoop at all… but it clearly is as far from Rock as...[Read More]

More Bubble Bobble Plus (WiiWare) details

Lyte Edge over at the NeoGAF forums has graciously provided some more details of the upcoming WiiWare game from Taito.  Of course, the game was released today in Japan, so there should be an abundance of information/media on the horizon for anyone who’s interested (old-school co-op platforming FTW). Here’s the scoop from Lyte-Edge: You choose to play in either Play Mode or Ranking Mode...[Read More]

SEGA renews trademarks on two more old-school Dreamcast titles

Kotaku reports that SEGA has renewed trademarks on two rather unexpected properties: Rez and Eighteen Wheeler: American Pro Trucker.  That might not be so surprising considering their recent behavior patterns of doing so with other more prominent IPs, but 18 Wheeler, really?  Rez, on the other hand, we can understand… though we did see Rez HD not too long ago for the PS3 and 360. Anyone who ...[Read More]
