If you hate missing the ball game as much as we do, maybe this product has caught your eye. We stopped and asked a few questions about specifics. {hwdvs-player}962{/hwdvs-player}
And here’s the second interview we did with the WCG guys at this year’s show. In case you don’t know him, this is Jamal, the smack-talking, pro-gaming contestant who took third in the first season of the hit gaming life reality TV show. If you missed any (or all) of the episodes in season one, you can check them out at your leisure at hulu.com. But watch our interview first! ...[Read More]
Among the smorgasbord of Dell and Alienware products we were treated to during our visit to their swanky CES press suite was this awesome monitor, running in 3D at the time (hence the nVidia glasses you see there in the video). It works well, too–about as well as any of the 3D televisions we demoed at the show. Hit up the video below for the full product demo. More Alienware coming shortly...[Read More]
We had the chance to ask the staff behind the WCG Ultimate Gamer reality TV series some burning questions about its upcoming season on Syfy. Check out our interview with Director of Marketing Aaron Smolick here! {hwdvs-player}960{/hwdvs-player} Coming up in a bit: our interview with one of the participants from season one.
All I have to say is that I want one. {hwdvs-player}959{/hwdvs-player}
One really cool announcement was Toshiba’s long-heralded Cell TV, which can transform 2D content into 3D with its trivector processing. This means television, movies, and games can all be upgraded to 3D for an immersive experience without even having to invest in specialized hardware or software beyond that of merely the television itself. It’s also got plenty of other features as wel...[Read More]
Lost Planet 2 wound up being a far different experience than I had anticipated. Vaguely familiar with the original, I assumed it was a standard 3rd person action/adventure with above average art direction and solid mechanics. What I found in our demo, however, turned out to be much more than another generic shooter. Steve, Greg, and I (along with a nice guy from Capcom PR) blasted through a gigant...[Read More]
As gimmicky as it probably sounds, we have to admit that we came away from the appointment with Sharp at least mostly convinced that the fourth yellow pixel in the QuadPixel superfecta really made a difference in terms of color gamut. Yes, it’s rather subtle, but the color simply seems to be richer and truer than many competing televisions. Again, it could have simply been the color settin...[Read More]
One of the hottest topics of this year’s CES was, as I’m sure you’re aware by now, the advent of 3D television, movies, and games. Although we’ve been seeing this sort of thing on the brink for years, it seems manufacturers are now ready to make that big push that will be required to start landing the units in consumers’ homes. We actually witnessed the first ̶...[Read More]
We met with Dell today, and they had a bevy of products to showcase. In addition to a number of items we can’t yet discuss, we witnessed some truly sweet stuff arriving in the Alienware line of products. Chief among these is the much-heralded M11x (basically a netbook-sized yet reasonably powerful laptop), which many have read about but almost no one has seen up close or in high definition...[Read More]
Well, seeing as you guys are pretty hardcore, I’m sure you’ve all seen the leaked list by now. I just wanted to pitch in here and say that Capcom specifically requested that all press keep the names secret. It’s clear that one such outlet elected not to honor that request, and as a result, we now all know who they are. Nevertheless, as the Mega Man Network and other s...[Read More]
This was really freaking cool… just thought you’d all enjoy it. {hwdvs-player}id=954{/hwdvs-player}
