King’s Bounty: The Legend

A Brief HistoryIf you know anything about strategy PC games you may have heard of a series called Heroes of Might & Magic. This not only happens to be a great series of turn based, strategy videogames but it also happens to be one of my favorite series of videogames to date. Still around today and in its fifth rendition, Heroes of Might & Magic has gone through many phases. Beginning with ...[Read More]

Penumbra: Requiem

In February, Frictional Games released a chilling first person adventure called Penumbra: Black Plague. Now, Frictional Games brings us the final chapter in the Penumbra adventure in the form of Penumbra: Requiem. While much shorter and different in a few key ways to Black Plague, Requiem is still well worth your consideration.

Dark Horizon

Space combat pilots, take note; you have a new mission coming to a PC near you in the form of Dark Horizon. Featuring all of the action, a helping of RPG, and a good story, Dark Horizon is one to consider.

Warhammer: Mark of Chaos – Battle March

I remember many years ago, watching and listening to my friend collect and play the table top Warhammer 40K game. It was an interesting hobby, whereby you purchased these plain pewter figures and accessories and painted them up and then put them into battle. Outside of that, playing the great Dawn of War games on PC is as close to the Warhammer universe as I have gotten, until now. We received the...[Read More]

Murder In the Abbey

A mysterious accident overshadows an otherwise peaceful abbey, it’s up to you and your young apprentice to ascertain the truth behind the matter in Murder In the Abbey, one of Dreamcatcher Interactive’s latest point and click adventures for the PC. I’ve recently completed the adventure and while it does have its shortcomings, it does provide for an engaging weekend adventure, as well as one that’s...[Read More]

Guitar Hero III – Legends of Rock (PC/Mac)

Aspyr was cool enough to send us the PC/Mac hybrid release of Guitar Hero 3 last week, and I’ve spent some time with it this weekend on my PC. The good news? It’s the same great Guitar Hero you’ve come to know on the consoles. The bad news? Well, there isn’t much, so let’s get to the details.

Neverwinter Nights 2

One game that always looked appealing to me was Neverwinter Nights. Made available for mac, the original seemed to shine from out of the gates (special thanks to mysterious reader who corrected us on this, kudos -- Editor).  In late 2006, the sequel was released, only for PC. I had given up all hope of seeing a version that I could play, so I allowed the game to drop off my radar. Imagine my surpr...[Read More]

The Sims: Castaway Stories

As someone whose only experience with The Sims before playing this game was watching my dad play Sim City fifteen years ago, I’d have to say it’s not that bad. At first I was reluctant to play it because I found the premise, for lack of a better word, stupid. Why would I try to control the life of some pretend character when I can barely control my own? As the game went on, however, I found it to ...[Read More]

The Immortals of Terra: A Perry Rhodan Adventure

It’s been too long since I sat down and played through a PC adventure game, so when I received Viva Media’s The Immortals of Terra – A Perry Rhodan Adventure for review, I was excited. Not only had it been a while since I jumped into what is probably still my favorite gaming genre, but this title looked intriguing. Turns out, while it’s not a great game, it is very good and adventure fans should s...[Read More]

Prey

Oh you read that right… this is a game, for Mac. I’ll give you just a minute to catch your breath as you redefine your handle on reality. Read the review after the jump.Prey is a first person shooter game that plays a little like Doom, borrowing many elements from other sci-fi first person shooting titles. Prey was first developed by Human Head Studios and produced by 3D Realms. It’s been on PC an...[Read More]

Shrek the Third

The big green ogre we know as Shrek returns this summer with Shrek the Third, in theatres now. Not surprisingly, Shrek 3 the game is out across all major platforms. I’ve been playing the PC version for a while now, and I admit it’s better than I expected for a kid’s movie game, but at the same time it’s nothing to write home about.

Infernal

Do you remember Requiem – Avenging Angel? What a cool game, although it had numerous bugs. Games with battles between heaven and hell are always intriguing, but just having that premise as a backdrop to a game doesn’t make it great. In Infernal, a new third person action game, the struggle between heaven and hell is revisited again. Infernal has a pretty impressive presentation, which I’ll elabora...[Read More]
