The madness and confusion continues on the Flying Pussyfoot, with a new entry into our foot race of wacky: A train-crawling and extremely violent being shrouded in darkness, mystery, and very likely the blood and gore from his/her/its latest kill. Could this be the dreaded Rail Chaser that has Jacuzzi so upset? Is Jacuzzi’s strange and seemingly spontaneous discovery of an inner reserve of bravery in the face of Ladd’s promise of, well, Ladd always promises painful death, a result of past encounters with the white suited killer? Is Ennis really a human, and what is her past with Isaac and Miria? Can we really trust Maiza, now that we know his past?
The mysteries abound, and the puzzle pieces are so far very exciting, as each one provides a clue, but to which puzzle? As this series progresses, it becomes ever more intriguing and I can’t wait for the next disc!
The art is wonderful, as before, and strangely evocative of the 1930’s. The dialogue, especially in English, is also brilliant and very educational. I’ve encountered more slang in this series than throughout my entire high school career! The music is also well-suited, subtle when necessary and thrilling when appropriate; fitting any occasion without stealing the spotlight, a characteristic that is often taken for granted. A true classic in the making, this series isn’t one to miss! Pick up this second disc today and brace yourself for action and intrigue at every turn!
