In this fantastic conclusion to an unquestionably interesting series, the studio not only carefully twists the myriad storylines together into a wonderfully cohesive unit, but also manages to convey the impossibility of actually ending any story. We are also treated to several characters’ backstories, which only serve to make their personalities and goals more complete. A wonderful and thrilling summation of the series, everything you hoped to see for these characters only becomes more real, and despite the lack of finality, this disc manages to bring conclusions without sacrificing hope for the future.
Another special bonus to this disc is the wonderful way so many of the characters show their true colors before you have to say goodbye to them. The seeming-coward Jacuzzi fights baddies with two bleeding wounds in addition to the knife sticking out of his arm, Czeslaw manages to realize that he doesn’t have to live in fear his entire existence, and even Eve Genoard, innocent sister of Dallas Genoard, can come to recognize her brother’s past acts as evil, but still find a way to see him again. The brilliant minds at the studio even find the generosity to introduce an entirely new villain in the midst of what should be the winding-down of the series!
The music, while not original to either the encounters or the episodes, continues to compliment the story flawlessly. The art style and animation of this series continues to amaze and entertain, and the voice acting (and careful scripting in either language) conveys the story flawlessly.
