The confusion seems to be drawing to a close, which is a good thing as this series doesn’t have many more episodes to wrap up all the loose ends flying about, and I don’t mean that as a reference to the passengers Ladd Russo intends to track down and maim/murder/dance-in-the-intestines-of (which he is prone to do). Meanwhile, a newspaper reporter/information gatherer does battle for her life against Ladd, when the Rail Tracer offers to kill the winner. What kind of prize is that?
The art continues to be fantastic and expressive, and the music is the highly lauded extra character (that doesn’t need to kill people) who/that makes this series so fun to watch. The voice acting is great in either language, although I find it easier to grasp the Chicago 30’s accent easier in English (as I wouldn’t recognize it in Japanese, if it is in fact, present). An excellent addition to any library, though I doubt the series would make any sense if I hadn’t seen the previous two discs. Still, I recommend picking up the whole series, as it’s destined to be a classic and has yet to descend from the tightrope of action and suspense it walks into tawdry emotional arcs, which I have to appreciate from time to time. As should you! Take a break from all that “does he love me” nonsense and plug in for some real killer storylines for once.
