Rekoil: Liberator

There are "growing pains" in all professions.  Video game design is no exception.  From 505 Games and rookie development team Plastic Piranha, this Xbox LIVE Arcade title for the 360 is a port from a multiplayer-only FPS available for PC.  While I haven't played the computer predecessor, Liberator is, unfortunately, quite bad in pretty much every aspect.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught

This winter, prepare for an Onslaught!  Activision, Infinity Ward, and Neversoft have officially kicked off the CoD: Ghosts DLC season, and a season pass or $14.99 on Xbox LIVE grants access to four fresh multiplayer maps, (technically) two new guns, and the opening act to an Extinction "series."

LEGO Legends of Chima Season 1 Part 1

The fate of the kingdom rests with those that control the CHI!  Warner Bros. Home Entertainment bring us a DVD set of this CG childrens adventure based on a line of LEGO toys.  Ten episodes spread across two discs will certainly please the young ones with cool visuals and a worthwhile story.

Jackass presents: Bad Grandpa

This takes the term "dirty old man" to a whole new level!  Paramount Pictures and MTV Films join forces again with jackass veteran director Jeff Tremain, crutches & crossbones team captain Johnny Knoxville, and relative newcomer Jackson Nicoll to bring the franchise's first film based on just one skit from their extensive library.  The Blu-ray combo pack includes unrated and theatrical versions al...[Read More]

Prisoners

Being held captive can sometimes be a personal, internal struggle.  Warner Bros. brings us the Blu-ray release of this mystery thriller directed by Denis Villeneuve starring an unbelievable ensemble of: Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Maria Bello, Viola Davis, Mellisa Leo, and Terrence Howard.  Incredible performances turned in by all members of the cast make up for a lack luster twist and unbalanc...[Read More]

Call of Duty: Ghosts

Despite the title, this game will be seen and heard by millions.  Activision flew me out to checkout the lastest installent in the yearly Call of Duty life cycle, developed by Infinity Ward, Neversoft, and Raven.  A new IP, Ghosts, brings familiar core principles with some fresh ideas and new ways to experience CoD.

Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate

Bring the battle, Ultimate style!  Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA line up as tag team parters once again to bring us an expanded, more feature rich, version of last year's contender for fighting game of the year, Dead or Alive 5.  While there aren't "extreme" differences between then and now in terms of gameplay, the additions do make this release better than it's predecessor and might be a worthy inve...[Read More]

Call of Duty Black Ops 2: Apocalypse

This is THE END! Aptly named Apocalypse is the fourth and final installment of DLC for Black Ops 2 available on Xbox LIVE for $15 or free for Season Pass holders. Multiplayer maps Pod, Frost, Takeoff, and Dig are bundled with the newest Zombie battleground Origins to cap things off in fun, exhilarating, and dramatic fashion.

A first look at Skylanders SWAP Force

Activision granted me a behind-the-scenes look at Vicarious Visions' progress on the latest installment of this video games/toys crossover sensation.  New 'Landers, new modes, and new hardware were all on display during the demo.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Global Multiplayer Reveal Impressions

Activision was gracious enough to fly me out to the city of angels to witness another kind of supernatural phenomenon: ghosts.  Call of Duty: Ghosts, to be exact.  This past Wednesday, the world got to see the entertainment software heavyweight pull the proverbial tarpaulin back on Infinity Ward's newest project that promises to take the CoD brand in a new direction, while still holding true to th...[Read More]

Saints Row IV

Things are about to get crazy, really crazy!  From Deep Silver and Volition comes the fourth trip into the insane world of the Saints.  If being President, fighting aliens, and having super powers piques interest, you're in for one blisteringly over-the-top ride.  Although all of these abilities may be just a little too much, and detract from a very well designed and constructed action game.
