I got a call yesterday from senior editor and my friend Nathan Stevens. He said he wanted my opinion on his L.A. Noire review because folks had commented on it, some of which were less than positive about his writing and his very positive score, a 10/10. In short, the comments brought up the issue of controls (saying the game sports a simple port from the GTA4 scheme) and others simply...[Read More]
What happens when Legends of the Hidden Temple is filmed in a rave club? Apparently good games are made! This Xbox LIVE Arcade platformer published by Ubisoft and developed by Housemarque is a 2D side scroller with plenty of style. And although the game is inherently linear, it embodies what a platform adventure should "feel" like.
The fate of fighting game of the year will be decided as it should be... This highly anticipated release from publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developer NetherRealm Studios is a "reboot" of the classic series. And it was able to utilize the "elegance" that fight fans want from their game today while staying true to the MK Universe.
We do NOT have a turd in the punch bowl. This two-disk Blu-Ray release from Paramount and Comedy Central is the entire 14th season of the smash hit series about everyone's favorites little town in Colorado. And although the film moves quite slow considering its theme, the production value and special features are top notch and l...[Read More]
Gamers... Start Your Engines! After a two year hiatus, the complete NASCAR experience returns to consoles with this offering by publisher Activision and developer Eutechnyx. And while this initial run by the publisher/dev team will please many fans of the sport and have them wanting more, the "less educated" player might find it difficult to have success right from the first green flag.
Suspense, sexuality, and yes... some dancing. This release from 20th Century Fox's independent branch Fox Searchlight is the Blu-Ray + Digital Copy of the Academy Award winning tour de force directed by Darren Aronofsky and stars Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, and Vincent Cassel. And despite the rather linear scope of the story, the overall experience is one of great emotion and horror.
