Seth Killian Kills Eric Layman in Street Fighter IV… one-handed

So today at Capcom we were able to witness something quite humorous indeed.  It was amongst the funniest things of the day, right up there with Mario bashing an Animal Crossing character over the head repeatedly with a shovel. Download Video of Capcom’s Seth Killian Playing Eric Layman One-Handed in SF4!

Eric is complaining about how cold it is in our room

He’s wrapped himself in a blanket whilst typing his articles. Meanwhile, Greg and I are making fun of his vagina.

Impressions: Mega Man 9 (Steve)

Let’s be honest here. Sure, I’m excited about a lot of games at the show this year. But when you boil it all down, there’s hardly anything more enticing to us old-school gamers than freaking Mega Man 9. Although I knew it would be there and I knew pretty much exactly what to expect from it, that still didn’t prevent me from getting all giddy when I saw the kiosk sitting there on the show floor. A ...[Read More]

Impressions: Project Origin (Steve)

Yet another game of recent past that I have not had the fortune of playing is the highly-acclaimed first-person shooter/horror title for the PC, F.E.A.R. Granted, it would probably scare the bejeezus out of me anyhow judging by what I saw today of the forthcoming sequel, Project Origin, so perhaps in some regards that’s for the best. Either way, we learned a lot about PO today, so if you were a fa...[Read More]

Impressions: Rock Band 2 (Steve)

Today we spent some time with MTV Games and Harmonix’s Rock Band 2, a title which should be self-explanatory enough for anyone who’s a fan of the original. Still, the Harmonix rep provided a very rational explanation of the company’s approach to developing the sequel to the smash hit: If Rock Band was innovation, Rock Band 2 is perfection. What? You have to buy new instruments all over again? It m...[Read More]

Mr. Bicep

They say there are no absolutes.  No absolute truth, no absolute morality, no absolute vodka… none of that stuff.  I’m not sure if I believe that, but when it comes to E3, I definitely do.  It’s simply chaos every year, regardless of how much you prepare; it never fails.  However, there is but one certainty with regard to all technology trade shows.  And that certainty is… ...[Read More]

Hits: 0

Lies, all lies! It’s a bug.  For some reason the blog doesn’t count hits to the index page I think, even if the entire blog entry is displayed there. Don’t believe the lies! 🙂 -Steve

Impressions: The Agency (Steve)

Earlier today, I spent a considerable amount of time with one of Sony Online Entertainment’s newest creations, The Agency. The game is affectionately referred to by its developers as an “online persistent shooter”, which really translates, I suppose, into a grand online experience featuring spy action and military finesse. While The Agency hasn’t even yet entered the alpha development stage, it’s ...[Read More]

Impressions: Shaun White Snowboarding (Steve)

Now here’s a title that I honestly never expected I’d be raving to you about. Ubisoft’s Shaun White Snowboarding for the Nintendo Wii is honestly one of the most fun titles we played all day today. Sure, the concept is rooted in the Wii Fit minigame original, but thankfully this title goes well beyond the functionality of that. Earlier today while meeting with Ubisoft, we were given the opportunit...[Read More]

Impressions: Prince of Persia (Steve)

I’ll admit that I have not yet played any of the more modern Prince of Persia remakes that have received so much critical acclaim. But I still got to spend time watching a live personal demo of the newest installment in the series today, and it looks to be quite the action title. To cover the basics, the gameplay is still rooted in the acrobatic explorative style of the original, except this time,...[Read More]

Impressions: Steve’s Press Conference Wrap-Up

Today, Nintendo and Sony held their press conferences to show off their stuff. You’ve already seen them and you probably know all about what was shown, so I won’t go into painstaking detail about each and every title that was touched on (though we’ll go through the major announcements). Instead, however, I’m just itching to tell you how I felt about what we saw. Nintendo Nintendo’s press conferenc...[Read More]
