Prepare to dust off in Apache: Air Assault -- details below!
I've had two motion gaming experiences lately that pretty much couldn't be more far apart. One was The Fight on PS Move, which I did not enjoy. The second was Your Shape Fitness Evolved on the Kinect. While I'm not trying to make a blanket statement about either technology, I was far more impressed with Your Shape Fitness Evolved and I'm definitely starting to feel more excited about Kinect's futu...[Read More]
Buster Keaton starred and directed many films in the 1920s, none of which I had seen until Kino shared with us a new Blu-ray release they have coming out this week. Sherlock Jr., and Three Ages are two Buster Keaton classics that have recently been restored by the passionate folks at Kino and presented to viewers on this Blu-ray.
Killzone 3 is due out in late February but recently the online multiplayer beta got underway giving players a chance to break in a couple of maps and modes. Although I didn’t spend a great deal of time with Killzone 2 multiplayer, what I’ve experienced thus far in the Killzone 3 beta is very similar, which isn’t a bad thing. The two maps are environmentally very different: Corint...[Read More]
The Fight: Lights Out is the latest game built specifically for the PS Move. Requiring two PS Move Remotes/Controllers (which act as your fists), The Fight casts gamers as an up-and-coming underground fighter. Veteran tough guy actor Danny Trejo will offer you guidance on your journey via full motion video cutscenes, but ultimately it's up to you to battle the dozens of characters that the game th...[Read More]
New Zealand developer Sidhe Interactive is behind two of my favorite downloadable titles of all time -- Gripshift and Shatter. Both of those games had a variety of fun mechanics, a great presentation, tight control, and they were just simply fun. Blood Drive, their newest title, is a full disc based release. That's unusual for Sidhe in itself, but this game is definitely something I didn't expect ...[Read More]
Fox did a bang-up job on one of its classics this past week with the 45th Anniversary Edition release of The Sound Of Music. The Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, directed by Robert Wise and starring Julie Andrews, has been a favorite for many of us for nearly five decades now. If you were waiting for the definitive release of this film, this is it.
I've had the Kinect since launch day and I have to admit, it's better than I thought it was going to be. I've been playing several titles including Sega's first Kinect entry, Sonic Free Riders. This newest Sonic game gets a lot right, but there are troubling concerns with the controls that keep it from being a great game. That doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a chance though -- let's take a clos...[Read More]
ABC's V has completed its first season and has since released it on DVD and Blu-ray. The first season of V on disc contains all twelve episodes and several extra features. If you're into subtle alien invasion and manipulation of mere earthlings, this show may be for you.
For some seventy-five years now, Detective Comics, better known as DC Comics, has been inspiring the imaginations of children and adults alike. To help celebrate the occasion and provide fans with an interesting look into this history of DC, a DVD documentary was created known as Secret Origin: The Story of DC Comics. I had a chance to watch the documentary this week and found it entertaining, alt...[Read More]
The original Ocean's 11 starred Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Lawford, and several other classic actors from the 60s. This week, Warner is set to release the 50th Anniversary Blu-ray. If you've seen the film, most would agree it's exceptional, but how does this Blu-ray release stack up?
Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam on Blu-ray (and DVD) is the name given to a new DC Comics Shorts collection that, while enjoyable, will only last you a bit over an hour. Let's take a closer look...
