Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

I've heard of the Tactics games, but never played them for whatever reason. I got my chance to turn that around recently with Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, a new title from Square Enix that is exclusively on the PSP. I thought this was some kind of sequel to Tactics Ogre, and in a way, it is. However, it's more of a remake or re-imagining of the original, highly acclaimed and loved game fro...[Read More]

Batman: The Brave and the Bold – Season One, Part Two

Batman: The Brave And the Bold is a fun cartoon. It features every one's favorite caped crusader and a host of other interesting DC universe characters as good and evil clash. At its heart, it looks and views like a kid's cartoon, but the witty writing and neat characters (Equinox and Gentlemen Ghost to name a couple) are enjoyable for every age.Next week, Warner Home Video is set to release the n...[Read More]

127 Hours

James Franco (Flyboys, Spider-Man 3) provides a powerful, nearly completely-solo acting job in 127 Hours, a film based on a real life event experienced by climber Aron Ralston. Nominated for six Academy Awards, the Fox Searchlight picture has found its way to Blu-ray.

The Man From Nowhere

The Man From Nowhere is an outstanding Korean film that stars Won Bin and Kim Sae-Ron. Bin plays a secluded man who gets wrapped up into a drug war while his young friend, played by Sae-Ron, is put in harm's way. The two hour movie never skips a beat and remains captivating from the get-go. Today, Well Go USA is releasing it on Blu-ray and for action movie fans, it's well worth your attention.

Michael Jordan to the Max

I have seen MJ To the Max a handful of times, including at an IMAX theater where it was originally intended to be seen back in 2000. Now, Lions Gate has brought the forty-six minute documentary to Blu-ray, sporting several extra features. For fans of MJ, this is a great release that captures one of the best sports documentaries (or biographies) I've ever seen in gorgeous HD.

Killzone 3

Rejoin Sev and Rico and the rest of the ISA as they try and haul ass off of Helghan. The Helghan leader was slain after the events of Killzone 2, and now the ISA are in extraction mode, trying to escape the clutches of the Helghan army and their brutal resurgence. With new features both in the campaign and on the multiplayer front, not to mention PS Move and 3DTV support, does Killzone 3 deserve a...[Read More]

Ys: I & II Chronicles

Even though I have never played them, I always found the games in Ys series interesting. Not just because of the efficient title, but because they were big titles on the TurboGrafx platform, a platform that I have only recently added to my collection. Anyway, as the years have passed, the Ys games have been re-released multiple times, including this month on the PSP. Ys: I & II Chronicles gives pl...[Read More]

Knights Contract

I think Namco has been on a roll lately with third person titles including Enslaved and Majin. I really enjoyed both of those games, so when I heard about Knights Contract, another new IP in the genre, I was excited. The box art left something to be desired (I know that's a moot point, but nevertheless), and as it turns out, the gameplay is both lacking polish in some areas and also suffering from...[Read More]

Hyperdimension Neptunia

NIS America has successfully ported several JRPGs over from Japan and this month sees the release of another one: Hyperdimension Neptunia. Like previous NISA titles such as Trinity Universe and Atelier Rororna, Hyperdimension Neptunia is packed with a lot of typical JRPG gameplay mechanics that are likely to satisfy hardcore fans of the genre but still leave casual JRPGers at bay.

Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson has taken a couple of years off of action movies to pursue other genres, but he's made a solid return in Faster. Arriving on Blu-ray on March 1st, Faster was directed by George Tillman Jr., written by Tony Gayton and Joe Gayton, and co-stars Billy Bob Thornton, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and Carla Gugino.

S.W.A.T.: Fire Fight

If you're looking for a textbook action movie with a dose of thriller, consider SWAT: Fire Fight which is due out on Blu-ray from Sony Pictures on March 1st. Directed by Benny Boom, SWAT: FF stars Robert Patrick, Gabriel Macht, and several other young actors...
