The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Vol. 1 & 2

Beginning in the Fall of 2010, the twenty-two minute cartoon stars a variety of classic Marvel superheroes and pits them against a colorful and interesting cast of villains. In May of 2007, The History Channel launched a TV series about the universe, aptly titled, The Universe. Over the course of five seasons and sixty-three episodes, this forty-four minute show narrated by Erik Thompson examines all sorts of topics related to the cosmos. Ip Man 2 (Collector’s Edition)

One of my favorite films last year, and one that ranks very high on my all time list, is Ip Man. Directed by Wilson Yip and starring Donnie Yen, Ip Man was inspired by real life events of the legendary Wing Chun Grandmaster. The sequel picks right up where the first left off -- most of the cast and crew intact. The two disc Collector's Edition is available tomorrow on DVD and Blu-ray. Both version...[Read More]

Tomb Raider Trilogy

I'm a big fan of collections and compilations and the like, so when I discovered a few months back that Square Enix was going to publish a Tomb Raider Trilogy for the PS3, I was excited. I knew there had to be reason that after all of these years, I had yet to make time to play through an entire Lara Croft adventure. Now, one a single disc for a very comfortable $40 price, gamers can enjoy three c...[Read More]

SHIFT 2: Unleashed

EA is back this week with the sequel to 2009's Need For Speed: SHIFT. I found the original SHIFT a compelling title due to how it blended a simulation experience with a dash of arcade. SHIFT 2: Unleashed gets that same feel right again for the most part, while also adding in several new gameplay features. Ultimately it once again bridges the gap between a Hot Pursuit or Burnout and Forza or GT5.

MLB 11: The Show

The MLB is back in action with spring training well underway. Earlier this month, Sony's San Diego studio released the latest iteration of their MLB sim, MLB 11: The Show. Nathan reviewed the outstanding PS3 version recently, and I've since spent a few hours with the PSP version. Bottomline, if you're looking for an MLB sim on the road, you can't beat this year's version of The Show.

Upstairs, Downstairs: Series One

Upstairs, Downstairs was a popular British drama that got its start in the 70s on ITV. This week, the complete series arrives on DVD in a special 40th Anniversary edition, loaded with loads of extra features. The first season is being sold separately as well, which we received for review.

Yakuza 4

Kazuma Kiryu. For many gamers, that name doesn't mean anything, but for those of us who have played any of the Yakuza games, it's a name that we can't forget. The charismatic yakuza enforcer turned 'good guy' is a legend in the fictional Japanese town of Kamurocho. The first three games were seen exclusively from the eyes of Kazuma, but part four, which came Stateside this month, introduces three ...[Read More]
