Every bit as fun as the other Resistance titles, Resistance 3 (R3) is not only the best entry into the series to date, it's also the definition of a AAA FPS.
Warhammer 40k: Space Marine is one of the best third person experiences I've played this year, combining a strong campaign with a good online mode that is going to expand for free next month with DLC that enables co-op. Even without that future DLC, Relic has taken the Warhammer 40k universe out of PC-only, RTS territory, to an engaging third person romp on consoles.
HD collections are quickly becoming something the PS3 is becoming known for. I'm a big fan of these re-releases, which include storied franchises such as Tomb Raider, Sly Cooper, Prince of Persia, and several others either out now or soon to be released. No HD collection had me quite as excited as God of War: Origins Collection when it was announced at E3, though. Featuring HD-ified versions of th...[Read More]
Marvel Knights Animation and Shout! Factory are releasing a new motion comic next week with Thor & Loki: Blood Brothers. This film was written by Robert Rodi, with art by Esad Ribic and animation from Magnetic Dream. The story was adapted from the Loki comic and it gives viewers a Loki-centric perspective that is often not presented.
Motion gaming and me. Where to begin? It's been a bit of a roller coaster, but for the most part, my experiences with motion gaming have been either decent or disappointing. The Wii never lacked in terms of quantity of motion titles, but it has always lacked in quality. PlayStation Move and Kinect suffer from similar shortcomings right now, but Sega's latest release, Rise of Nightmares, has become...[Read More]
BFS Entertainment is set to release the first set of Scotland Explored - Weir's Way on DVD on September 13th. This two disc DVD set contains eight episodes that were originally produced and aired on STV, Scottish Television, and I believe are still airing last nights on ITV in Scotland. Let's have a closer look...
Bodycount was one of those games that just kind of snuck up on the radar for me. It didn't get a lot of press, for reasons I was unsure of but still somewhat concerned about, and it looked like this generation's Black, or maybe even Soldier of Fortune. A demo was released, but I got a copy in for review before I got a chance to check that out. Sure enough, this is a pure FPS in the vein of Black. ...[Read More]
The cult favorite in Japan is making its way stateside thanks to XSEED.
I enjoyed Dungeon Siege III and I'm looking forward to the DLC. That is all. Oh, except for all the juicy details Square released today...
'Free DLC' -- a phrase I'd like to hear more often, especially when paired with a significant release such as the upcoming Myths & Mavericks Bonus Pack. It's coming out Sept 13th on PSN and XBL, and includes a host of new multiplayer maps and playable characters. The full list is here: Maps/Modes (bolded locations are brand new to multiplayer) Cochinay – Gold Rush, Shootout, Gang Shootout, Strongh...[Read More]
The highly anticipated fighter gets some box art; enjoy.
Is it reasonable to think that the Wii is entering its final holiday season this year? With the Wii U announced for 2012, and the forecast for upcoming titles, especially exclusives, looking bleak, it may be time to start thinking about that 'best games on the Wii' list. If I were a betting man, I would think that Konami's No More Heroes, released in 2007, would make that list, but frankly I never...[Read More]
