I've recently spent a few hours with Babel Rising, a new iPhone game from White Bird Productions and Bulky Pix. Babel Rising is a tower defense game, but not quite in your typical style. This is one of those games you can learn to play in two minutes and then you'll spend many hours enjoying. Let's take a closer look.
Publisher Aspyr and developer Big Blue Bubble recently got together for a Nintendo DS game based off of Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone's popular book series, Fighting Fantasy. These books from the 80s blended classic D&D style universes with the creative possibilities of being able to choose multiple story paths (not unlike the Choose Your Own Adventure books). I haven't read any of these books...[Read More]
Director Shinichrio Watanabe has quite a resume in the anime industry. I'm not all that familiar with anime, but even bystanders to the genre like me have heard of and seen some of Cowboy BeBop, one of Watanbe's most popular works. Another series he was behind that recently came to Blu-ray is Samurai Champloo. The complete series set includes all twenty-six episodes of the series that was shown on...[Read More]

2D brawlers were a huge hit in the late 80s and 90s, but you just don't see that many anymore. Done right, 2D brawlers are awesome co-op experiences that offer a lot of replay value and great memories. The genre has been well established by games like Double Dragon, Final Fight, and Captain Commando. SOE just launched a new PSN game that combines all of the classic themes and elements of a 2D braw...[Read More]
