Big news from the Macao Open today! We have a new Open TFT Champion, a teaser of an upcoming TCG from Riot Games (‘Project K’), and a wealth of previews for TFT next year! Check the rundown from Riot below:
- The TFT Macao Open was the second year of the annual 512-competitor open bracket global LAN tournament with a $300K prize pool.
- Shiquz from China is the TFT Macao Open Champion, taking home the one-of-a-kind “Tactician’s Belt” trophy and $100K USD.
- The TFT Macao Open took place at the Venetian Macao and featured an exclusive Teamfight Tactics: Into the Arcane experience on site, including:
- Custom built Arcane activations modeled after Zaun, Black Rose, and Jinx’s Hideout
- Side Events featuring Into the Arcane in-game cosmetics as prizes
- Entrance tunnel resembling the Anomoly
- Stage designed after the Piltover Council Room
- TFT’s largest annual community and competitive event will be heading to Paris in December 2025 with the TFT Paris Open.
- Before revealing TFT’s plans for 2025, TFT celebrated the growth of the franchise over the past few years. To date, TFT has more than 300 million players globally across the TFT Franchise – TFT, TFT Mobile, Fight for the Golden Spatula, as well as the recently released Golden Spatula in Southeast Asia.
- The 2025 Roadmap Reveal was unveiled in Macao during the Finals broadcast, here are some highlights:
- Three Set Revivals: Starting with Fates: Festivals of Beasts in January 2025
- Set 14: Fight for control of Cyber City and team up in March 2025
- Revamped Double Up: Custom lobbies and more for Spring 2025
- Set 15: Anime-style fighting tournament arriving in July 2025
- PvE: A new PvE experience is planned for Summer 2025
- Set 16: Return to Runeterra in Winter 2025
- Project K, Riot’s new physical trading card game was playable for the first time in Macao
- Featuring art from across Runeterra, the game is designed to provide a strategic competitive experience
- The game is playable in 1v1, 2v2, and 1v1v1v1 formats
- At the TFT Macao Open a limited edition Arcane-themed set was available for sale
- This set will be open for global pre-orders in 2025
- Project K is being released first in China in early 2025 with a global release to follow
