Stockholm, Sweden – Apr 1, 2019 – Fast Travel Games has today, in collaboration with fellow Swedish games studio Hatrabbit Entertainment, makers of Merry Snowballs, announced that the dreaded spider robot from their debut title Apex Construct is now included as a power-up in the popular 1v1 multiplayer VR game Slightly Heroes. Acquiring this new power-up named “Mothr Spider”, players can spawn the spider to have it aid them in their battles, firing projectiles towards the enemy while dodging incoming attacks.
“Slightly Heroes is all about over-the-top, cross platform multiplayer fun, and we felt that the iconic spider enemy from Apex Construct would fit perfectly as a new power-up”, says Joakim Svärling, co-founder at Hatrabbit. “We believe it brings something fresh to the existing range of tools you have at your disposal, like the Banana Beamer and the Mine-Shroom. Also, Fast Travel Games’ studio is located very close to ours so this collaboration meant we had a lot of reasons to chat over a fika. And while this would have been an awesome April Fools’ joke, the spider invasion in Slightly Heroes is 100% true!”
Slightly Heroes is a casual, Pixar-inspired multiplayer shooter that can be played cross-platform on all major high-end and mobile VR devices. Currently available for Oculus Go, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear & Daydream, Slightly Heroes pits you as charming, part-time heroes and villains like Captain Lawsuit, Agent Meow, and Judge Greg. Battle your friends in first-person VR across a variety of arenas, like a city park, outback farm or a beautiful paradise island. Utilize power-ups and special weapons to defeat your enemies in creative ways and claim a spot at the top of the leaderboards. Numerous new characters like Mrs. Baking Bad & Mr. Fangtastic have been added to the roster since launch.
