Last Saturday night, during the first-ever Clash Royale League playoffs, Immortals defeated compLexity in a nail-biting match, securing their place representing North America on the global stage at the inaugural Clash Royale League World Finals. Joining them will be Team Queso, which defeated SK Gaming and now advances to the World Finals to represent Europe. Immortals and Team Queso will compete against the top teams from the remaining CRL regions: China, Latin America, Asia, as well as Japan’s top team, for Title of Best Clash Royale Team in the World at Japan’s Makuhari Messe on December 1. Fans everywhere are invited to watch the sold-out World Finals event live on the Clash Royale Esports YouTube channel.
“The competition in this inaugural year of the Clash Royale League has been absolutely incredible,” said Noah Whinston, CEO of Immortals. “We’ve worked so hard for the opportunity to represent North America in Japan in December, and we’re not going to disappoint – we’re coming for the Crown!”
Earlier this year, 25 million players competed for a chance to participate in the inaugural year of Supercell’s Clash Royale League, a global esports league with 44 teams across the world’s best esports organizations, including North America’s Cloud9, Team SoloMid, Tribe Gaming, Immortals, NRG, compLexity, 100 Thieves and Counter Logic Gaming, and Europe’s Team Liquid, Fnatic, G2 Esports, Team Queso, Team Dignitas, Allegiance, SK Gaming, and Misfits. Every Clash Royale player in the world* was given the opportunity to compete in the in-game Clash Royale League Challenge earlier this year, and of the 25 million who participated, nearly 7,000 players from 113 countries advanced to the next round. After additional online qualifying rounds and regional Combine events introducing these players to the pro teams, rosters were finalized and the competition began.
