Niantic and the National Park Foundation team up for special campaign

More awesome work by Niantic!

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the National Trails and National Wild & Scenic Rivers acts, Niantic and the National Park Foundation are teaming up for a special campaign inviting Pokemon GO and Ingress players to meet up, complete tasks, and explore the United States’ many rivers and trails.

Niantic is encouraging players to visit as many of the rivers and trails as possible, and participants can receive a special patch and handwritten note from Niantic by sending a postcard or publishing an Instagram post of the trail or river. Additionally, Niantic will donate $5 to the National Park Foundation for every digital or physical postcard received through December 31.

The National Trails and Wild & Scenic Rivers acts were established on October 2, 1968, and signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson. Niantic and the National Park Foundation are exploring innovative ways to inspire people to connect with the national parks community through technology.
