Hyperbook Studio (based in Warsaw, Poland) recently published the final release of Regenesis Arcade on 7th September. Set in a dystopian future ruled by machines, player has to battle through 8 detailed maps in campaign mode, ranging from futuristic cities, through forests to atomic wastelands, fighting waves of enemies coming from both ground and air. Player can choose from 16 different weapons, one for each hand, and dozens of perk upgrades, including freezing shots and bouncing pellets.
“Our goal with Regenesis Arcade was to create a definitive VR FPS experience, that will be based on mechanics simple enough to grasp them on first playthrough, but hard to master due to ever-increasing gameplay tempo.” – says Adrian Szymański, a project manager in Hyperbook Studio – “Player’s positioning and weapon choice is crucial to the success. Those lessons are learned the hard way. After the tutorial no one is holding your hand or uncovering the secrets we put inside the game. We believe that this is one of the most intense VR FPS titles you can find.“
Game was available since January 2018 as an early access title on Steam, Viveport and Oculus store, collecting valuable feedback and improving with every update. Current release sums up the development cycle with completely game-changing mechanisms of weapon chest drops, ammo system and biome-like level setup that brings new weapon types and randomly generated encounters.
Most notable features of the game are:
16 different weapons (from gravity gun, through minigun, shotgun to powerful rocket launcher and wavegun),
8 detailed maps, with different settings and weather conditions,
3 types of turrets, that will fight by your side upon deployment,
2 locomotion modes; teleport and free movement,
game+ mode, that lets you continue campaign infinitely, raising the difficulty bar and increasing your chance for getting high score,
online leaderboards, where players from all over the world compete for the title of the ultimate drone destroyer!
