Vainglory launches Update 3.0

Vainglory releases 5v5 update.

Vainglory 5V5 Now Available Worldwide

Vainglory, the world’s No. 1 international mobile esport, launched Update 3.0 today, making Vainglory 5V5 available to every player globally. Vainglory 5V5 is the only undiluted, no-compromises MOBA for mobile, providing players with superior gameplay and strategic depth, the most accurate and responsive controls and the best graphics and highest frame rates on mobile. Powered by Super Evil’s proprietary E.V.I.L. game engine, Vainglory 5V5 brings the full-octane, three-lane-map experience — the most popular PC-based format — to the touchscreen generation. Featuring 3M+ polygons, more than 200 fully animated moving actors, and rendered at 120FPS, Vainglory 5V5 is set to redefine multiplayer gaming on mobile and break ground for the MOBA genre on any platform.

“GameBench’s performance ratings show that Vainglory not only delivers 120FPS gameplay on devices like the Razer Phone, but that it continues to perform at a highly optimised 60FPS across a wide range of iOS and Android devices, even going as far back as the iPhone 5S,” said Sri Iyer, CEO of GameBench. “This puts Vainglory at an advantage to bring its seamless, lag-free competitive MOBA gameplay to the largest possible audience, unlike other MOBAs that are forced to make compromises on visual fluidity and touch responsiveness, often struggling to run smoothly at 30FPS let alone 60.”

Vainglory 5V5 is the first and only true MOBA on the mobile platform and features true line-of-sight Fog of War, real macro and rotational strategies, last-hitting, wave control, completely free player camera controls, an intricate vision system and ultra-precise touchscreen controls that allow focus and fighting in ways that thumbsticks cannot match. Through it all, Vainglory 5V5 immerses players in a world of entirely original fantasy characters and storytelling, adding depth and emotional investment to every play session.

Vainglory is also excited to announce a brand-new 5V5 score by renowned video game composer Joris de Man. Best known for his music for the Killzone franchise and Horizon Zero Dawn, Joris just won the 2017 Game Music Award for “Outstanding Artist – Western Composer.” Vainglory 5V5 features an adaptive music system that unveils the score based on how you play, so the listening experience is different every time. The music during an intense teamfight differs from a dragon battle or roaming the perilous jungle, and so on.

To celebrate the launch of 5V5, a special Lunar New Year event will kick off shortly after the update, running from February 15-22. Players have a chance to win in-game skins by playing the 5V5 mode, with extra bonuses for playing with new year-themed skins.

Starting with an April 2018 preseason followed by the June regular-season start, the inaugural Vainglory Premier League (previously Vainglory8) will also shift to the 5V5 format. Season 1 will take place on the all-new Sovereign’s Rise map, a completely new map built from scratch for Vainglory 5V5. The Vainglory Premier League will build upon the esports structure and schedule in place, moving to a double-round-robin with midseason and end-of-season playoffs, along with a single relegation tournament and regional championships will qualify teams for the annual World Championship.

Vainglory can be downloaded for free from the App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore.
