PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Narrated by Academy Award® winner Matt Damon (1997, Best Original Screenplay, Good Will Hunting), Boston, the first-ever, feature-length documentary about the world’s most legendary race, arrives on Digital December 5 and On Demand December 19 from Lionsgate. The Boston Marathon’s century-plus history and post-terrorist-attack resiliency are detailed in this revealing and moving documentary that is rated 100% Certified Fresh by all critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Boston includes one of only four film scores ever recorded by the Boston Symphony Orchestra (Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan, and Mystic River being the others). Jeff Galloway, U.S. Olympian and running coach, calls Boston “inspiring in every way.” Directed by award-winning filmmaker-marathoner Jon Dunham (Audience Choice Award, Chicago Film Festival, 2007), Boston will be available on Digital and On Demand for the suggested retail price of $9.99 and $5.99, respectively.
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS
Boston chronicles the story of the iconic race from its humble 15-runner origins to the present day. In addition to highlighting the event as the oldest annually contested marathon in the world, the film showcases many of the most important moments in the race’s century-plus history, including the tragic events of 2013 and the preparations for – and eventual running of – the 118th Boston Marathon one year later, when runners and community gathered together once more for what would be the most meaningful race of all.
