Over the past two years, Epic Games has provided developers of all backgrounds with the ability to test their Unreal Engine 4 capabilities as part of the monthly #ue4jam contest. This year, Epic has shaken things up and will be holding the first-ever quarterly event beginning with the Spring UE4 Jam! Read on for details on its kickoff and theme announce during today’s UE4 livestream, along with a look at the games at the “Powered by Unreal” zone at EGX Rezzed, a rundown of the latest GDC tech session videos and a look at Epic’s interview with the developers of Wartile.

TODAY ON TWITCH: SPRING UE4 JAM KICKOFF
Today on the UE4 livestream, Community Manager Alexander Paschall will be kicking off the Spring #ue4jam with the announcement of its theme! Epic has made the switch over to quarterly jams and are excited to kickoff the first one of the year. Tune in early for the weekly Unreal Engine news updates, community spotlight and more.

EPIC GAMES HEADS TO VRLA WITH ROBO RECALL AND UNREAL VR WORKSHOP
Epic recently announced that they’re heading to the VRLA conference and expo, and Robo Recall, including several new mods for the game, will be playable at the show! Epic will be hosting a postmortem for the critically-acclaimed VR shooter, plus they’ll host a workshop on building high-quality interactive VR.

WATCH THE LATEST UNREAL ENGINE GDC SESSIONS
Unreal Engine developers can now access additional presentations from GDC 2017! These including a look at the development of Robo Recall’s cinematics and a presentation on the new multiplatform Unreal Audio Engine.

WARTILE TAKES TABLETOP FANTASY TO NEW HEIGHTS
Wartile by Playwood Project is a medieval real-time strategy game inspired by tabletop games. The title recently became available via Steam Early Access and as part of the Unreal Engine Showcase, the developers discuss the game’s approach to role playing, turn-based combat and real-time strategy.
