Now on to the review itself. Be prepared there are possible spoilers.
The movie started off intense with a gang shooting scene and it kept going from there, but that should be how every action movie goes. What made this movie interesting to me is the fact that it left more questions than answers. While it started off with an intense rush of what John Link’s (Mel Gibson) daughter was going through it quickly transitioned into John and what he was doing with his life. From here John was quickly introduced, again, to his daughter who ran away years ago. And the joyride that was this crazy movie went from there.
While I don’t want to spoil everything I will say this movie was an interesting ride, but it seemed to go too quickly while leaving many questions. The last few minutes of th emovie was the resolution I expected a lot quicker on. I figured it would hit the climax and then go more into the cartel as opposed to going into Link’s past and then swiftly hitting the climax with very little after it. I would’ve much preferred a longer movie to get more out of Mel’s character.
Overall the movie was great and I would enjoy watching it again. The special featurette that comes with the Blu-Ray copy goes more into the background of the mvoie and the filming process as well as character details. All of which I enjoyed and it added a bit more depth to the quick ending movie. Or at least gave me more content that I wanted as it ended soooooooooooo damn fast.
