Adventure Time: Card Wars

Adventure Time: Card Wars

One of the episodes included being Card Wars and another Daddy-Daughter Card Wars, cleverly card themed. This DVD includes its very own card in the package so the audience can collect them and play their own card wars. It also includes great action-packed episodes that will have you rolling on the floor laughing.

Finn (Jeremy Shada) and Jake (John DiMaggio) are two best friends who go on several explorations and seem to always find some type of trouble to get into. The episode that centers on the theme of this DVD series, Card Wars, is Jake convincing Finn to play his favorite trading card game, Card Wars, and whoever wins is deemed the cool guy and whoever loses is the dweeb. The objective of Card Wars is similar to that of the card game Pokémon; you are supposed to try to pull a card/character to beat your opponent (kind of like combat).

Besides that episode, here is what to expect out of this DVD release:

– Card Wars
– Daddy-Daughter Card Wars
– What was Missing
– Up a Tree
– A Glitch is a Glitch
– Nemisis
– Evergreen
– Everything’s Jake
– The Diary
– Dentist
– Varmints
– Football
– Crossover
– (The) Hall of Egress
– Flute Spell
– The Thin Yellow line

Adventure Time: Card Wars contains a lot of reoccurring characters, such as BMO (Niki Yang) a hand handled video game who always seems to provide just the right amount of comic relief by appearing in a scene. The voice acting is really spot-on the comedic delivery of the characters, meaning they sound just how they look. And as always, the writing in the show is top-notch and an even balance for both kids and adults. I commend the writers of Adventure Time episodes because the storyline and characters are always unique and engaging. Certainly memorable and endearing at times.

The animation of Adventure Time is and always has been creative, the normal 2-D graphics are very consistent and you can never tell how old an episode actually is. In a few of the episodes the characters appear more life like and 3-D digitalized, which changes the complete traditional style of the animation. The color scheme of the show is very psychedelic and bright, this explains the variation in the audience. The kids who watch Adventure Time are drawn in for the creative characters and colors, while the young adults are drawn to the crude jokes.

I would definitely say Adventure Time is not an educational series it is strictly for entertainment purposes. However this doesn’t mean that kids shouldn’t watch it because it is a kid’s show but it also has jokes catered towards young adults. Adventure Time is the type of show you watch when you are trying to unwind from a long day. If you love Adventure Time you will like this Card Wars DVD.

Adventure Time: Card Wars is a great DVD release and a perfect addition to an ever-expanding DVD and Blu-ray family. I find it hilarious, even as an adult.
