The show is pretty graphic and has colorful language at times, I would not advise an audience under fourteen. If you are looking for a new series this is a great show to binge watch.

Fighting their past this group of misfits has decided to keep their number in the order of which they woke up in from their space chambers. This crew of seven intergalactic warriors consists of One (Marc Bendavid), Two (Melissa O’Neil), Three (Anthony Lemke), Four (Alex Mallari jr.), Five (Jodelle Ferland), Six (Roger Cross) and The Android (Zoie Palmer). The members of this team woke up in space chambers without any memory of who they are or what they were doing on the space ship called the Raza. Later we find out the true identities of the team and they were in for a rude awakening. Each member found out their name as well as all past crimes they have committed, once they realize that they don’t agree with what their past offered they then try to reinvent themselves and the purpose of their mission.
During the journey into space the crew ran into trouble along the way. There are several attacks on the crew causing injury and has everyone rethinking of what their future plans are in hope that they can return home and regain some sort of peace. What I think really keeps the audience engaged is the fast paced action oriented scenes, the show really doesn’t have any slow parts to it. Although the story can be predictable at some points, it still keeps you on your toes. Dark Matter has an interesting storyline that has a combination of a dystopian society along with an apocalyptic future. The character development is very refreshing, because it shows various sides of each crew member and how far they have come from the first to the last episode of season one. There is someone in the crew that everyone can relate to.
The advanced features used in creating this show are awesome. There are certain scenes that have to be green screen but are seamlessly flawless. The technology used to create the spaceship appears very high-tech and futuristic. The show does not have any special features however I believe that a few behind the scenes extras would seem beneficial for the audience to gain some background knowledge into what it takes to create futuristic set and the thoughts from the actors. If anything, extra features would just add to the quality of the show.
I’m not one for science fiction shows but Dark Matter is a show that I will continue to watch. I can’t wait to see what season two has to offer!
