While on their magical quest, Shrek and Donkey meet some new friends that provide comedic relief on the journey. In the end, Shrek triumphs by defeating Lord Farqaad and marrying Princess Fiona. This 15th anniversary edition of the film includes a Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD all bundled together. The clarity the Blu-ray specifically is what really makes the film appear timeless on screen. The colors are vibrant and the images are not pixelated, which is great for a fifteen-year-old film. The Digital HD copy is great for viewers on the go because it is easy to access on any computer, tablet or smartphone using the free digital code, which is ideal for those who can’t get enough of the film. Although the film has transformed across a variety of media devices it has aged gracefully into the digital age, keeping its original animation but enhancing minor details making it appear more modern.

I really enjoyed re-watching SHREK, it had been such a long time since I had seen the original film in theatres and I felt a kid again. The story it self is still hilarious, and I appreciate the jokes tailored more towards an adult audience. Animation wise it’s incredible to see things that were created a while ago and realize how advanced the film making process was back then and how much it has progressed overtime with the new developments in technology. Overall it is still a great film and is timeless.
