Today, Palmer Luckey (Founder of Oculus) traveled with the very first consumer Oculus Rift to Anchorage, Alaska to deliver it to first person who pre-ordered it, Ross Martin. Ross is the first person in the entire world to get a consumer version of the Oculus Rift. Ross is a VR enthusiast and indie developer.
Oculus will launch the Oculus Rift worldwide on March 28, 2016 https://www.oculus.com/en-us/rift/. The Oculus Rift allows you to step into your favorite game, watch an immersive VR movie, jump to destinations on the other side of the world (or galaxy), or spend time with friends (social) in VR. Acquired by Facebook in 2014 for $2B, Oculus started as a Kickstarter project in August of 2012.
