We all know that the most wonderful thing about Tigger, is that he’s the only one! But, what if there was a whole family of tiggers? Well, Tigger is off to find his family tree is this hundred acre adventure. In a very heartwarming attempt to contact a lost (non-existent) family of tiggers, his friends Roo, Pooh and gang try to improvise and help Tigger find his lost family. In his very long and hard search for a family that looks like him, Tigger finds he already has what he’s been looking for right in front of him the entire time. He was just too busy searching to realize it.
This is a great little film about family and friends. Disney really does a great job instilling the values of friendship into this particular film. It may appear a little sad at first but once the moral of the story come to the surface you realize what a sweet film it really is. Tigger’s friends go above and beyond to ensure Tigger isn’t hurt by the realization that he really is ‘the only one.’ It is such a sweet story of friendship and the realization that a “family” is what you make it. Families come in all shapes and sizes!
I do have to admit that it is a bit slow, but still good. It absolutely will not hold the attention of a young audience. My 2 year old was having nothing to do with it. The colors and designs just aren’t brilliant enough to hold their attention. I must say the colors are a great deal brighter than the original version. They are greatly restored. The backgrounds and characters are beautifully drawn but the film just can’t compete with the modern CGI that most children of this generation are used to seeing. There is quite a difference in appearance. The plot is also a bit more complex and probably targets the ages of 4-8 yrs of age.
The blu-ray quality is nice, but I’m not exactly sure of how well with this magnitude of sketching can be revised without changing the film almost entirely. The Winnie the Pooh films have the beautiful watercolor backgrounds and very thin soft lines that are very unique in style. The films are very easily recognizable even before that characters are drawn in. They did a fantastic job of staying with the original pen and ink drawings of Winnie the Pooh. It is a very lovely film. I also really enjoyed seeing the inside of Tigger’s home. You also get to see in the inside of Kanga and Roo’s home as well. Those have actually never been shown before, so that’s an added bonus.

There are some great features on the blu-ray disc. There aren’t as many on the DVD but still some great shorts. The blu-ray is loaded with Winnie the Pooh shorts. They are all wonderful and they hold the attention of a younger audience due to their shorter nature and easy to follow plots. They are all very cute and well known for the most part.
My favorite feature on the blu-ray has to be the Intermission feature. It is absolutely one of the coolest features I have ever seen! No more waiting around and twiddling your thumbs waiting for the popcorn to pop or someone to take a restroom break. Now there is something to do! There are quick little games for the entire family to participate in. There are guessing the characters games, what’s wrong with the picture games, and counting games. This is a fantastic idea in general. I now believe all movies should have this feature. Way to raise the bar Disney! You never seem to let me down.
