The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride

The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride

Simba is all grown up with a pride of his own to look after, especially his young strong willed daughter Kiara. Being the over protective father he is, he worries over the danger lurking around every corner. Timon and Pumbaa do their best to protect her, but there is only so much they can do when Kiara meets her destined future mate Kovu, who is the rival cub of the fallen Scar and outcast pride. Will Simba step in and forbid what could be the key to ending an ugly pride rivalry or will true love conquer all?

The Lion King 2 is just as wonderful as the first. The characters are just as lovable and charismatic as the originals. Timon and Pumbaa are unchanged and the charm of Kiara and Kovu is beautiful. The story is a well written and planned out one.  The newly developed villain, Kovu’s mother and mate of the fallen Scar is really a nasty one. She wasn’t in the original film, but the Disney team really did a good job of introducing her and developing her quickly and efficiently to the audience.

Most of the original voice talents were back which was outstanding. The acting skills of the cast are amazing and greatly appreciated.

The film was outstanding when it came to the visuals and sound. Everything was beautiful. The colors were all incredibly vibrant with pristine clarity. This is a wonderful blu-ray film. The quality of high definition is wonderful. This would be a great upgrade. The music is exciting and brilliant to listen to. It is actually one of the more memorable points of the film. The music really adds a great deal of life to the film.

The DVD also looks outstanding. The high definition version is of course more pin point than the DVD but it is still nicely done.
