Toy Story
Toy Story is the marvelous telling of an old fashion rivalry among two toys. Its cowboy against space ranger. Woody (Tom Hanks) a rootin’ tootin’ cowboy, is Andys current favorite toy, but someone else is moving in on his turf. Andy receives Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) a Space Ranger for his birthday and everything changes. Woody is determined to stay the favorite and devises a plan to rid the toy box of Buzz, who actually doesn’t believe hes a childs play thing, before the family moves. When his plan backfires he and Buzz are stranded and need to work together to make their way back home in time for the big move.
Excellent story material! Everything about Toy Story was top notch. The story line was wonderful, the writing was great, each of the characters were incredibly strong and interesting. The big voices behind the characters only added to the success of the film. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Don Rickles (Mr. Potato Head), Jim Varney (Slinky Dog), Wallace Shawn (Rex), and many other wonderful voices all added to the likability of the film. Everything and everyone was so memorable. Director John Lasseter’s directional debut was a huge hit in the world of animation. He and his team did an excellent job with Toy Story.
After 15yrs Toy Story is still at the top of the animation world. It holds its own among several computer animated films out there. The age of the film makes little difference when it comes to the outstanding animation. It really is a visually impressive piece of work. Its very brilliant, as all Pixar films are, in both the visuals and quality of story. It is also accompanied by beautifully designed characters and realistic backgrounds and surroundings. This transfer was amazing! Clean, beautifully colored, and crystal clear in both audio and visuals. The sharpness of both visuals and audio are amazing. Even the reflections on Buzzs helmet are fantastic. The bright little claw worshiping green aliens are very vibrant as well. The detailing of each toy is really something to be marveled. Im really impressed by the quality of this film.
Whether you are old or new to the Toy Story experience you are in for a real treat from this wonderful Disney-Pixar production. Families and children all around will love this beautifully transferred. It would make an outstanding addition to the blu-ray shelf! Toy Story is a film that is sure to be loved and watch over and over again by everyone in the family.
