One More Time
Michael Scofield and his friends have been exonerated and are normal citizens once again after the events in season four. The Final Break begins with Michael and Sarah getting married, but the celebration is abruptly stopped when some feds crash the party and arrest Sarah for the murder of Michael’s mother. She’s put into a nearby women’s prison, and it isn’t long before a price is put on her head by the General, the imprisoned leader of The Company. Struggling through each day, Sarah is constantly under threat. Meanwhile, Michael, Lincoln, and Sucre are scheming on how to break her out. Will they get help from Alex? Will Gretchen, caged up in the same prison as Sarah, harm or hurt her? These questions and more will be posed and answered.
Of course, we know they succeed as the season four finale tells us, but it’s not without much adversity and drama, the staple of the TV series. This is basically two episodes seamlessly combined that weren’t aired in the US, so you know exactly what to expect from each character and the overall feel of the show is intact.
On Blu-ray, The Final Break looks and sound very good. As with most TV shows, the visuals aren’t as crisp as a film, but it’s a fine presentation nonetheless. As for extra features, there are three deleted scenes, in SD, and that’s it.
This is an extremely brief review, but there honestly isn’t much to say about this release. I would add that I was annoyed at the incredible amount of trailers stacked onto the front end of this disc, and that the menu’s navigation was broken. The menu was broken because there was no indication as to which selection you were on — Play, Chapters, Setup, whatever the case, no color difference or navigation marker was shown, which was odd, but you can still work the navigation, just without the visual cues.
Ultimately, passionate fans of Prison Break may want to pick this up for purchase to add to their collection, but everyone else, a rental will suffice.
